  1. Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures for patients in a timely and efficient manner.
  2. Communicate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely scheduling.
  3. Maintain detailed and organized records of surgical schedules, including patient information, procedure details, and surgeon availability.
  4. Utilize electronic scheduling systems and software to manage and update surgical schedules.
  5. Work closely with insurance companies to verify coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for surgical procedures.
  6. Collaborate with surgical team members to ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are available for scheduled procedures.
  7. Communicate with patients to provide pre-operative instructions and address any questions or concerns.
  8. Monitor and manage any changes or cancellations to the surgical schedule, ensuring all parties are informed.
  9. Stay up-to-date on surgical procedures and terminology to accurately schedule and coordinate procedures.
  10. Adhere to all HIPAA and patient privacy guidelines in handling confidential information.
  11. Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  12. Attend meetings and trainings to stay informed on updates and changes in the surgical scheduling process.
  13. Proactively identify and suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and patient satisfaction.
  14. Collaborate with other departments, such as billing and admissions, to ensure a smooth and coordinated patient experience.
  15. Uphold the mission, vision, and values of Ascension Health in all interactions and duties.
