- Provide skilled surgical first assisting support to the surgical team during procedures.
- Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective patient care.
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Assist with patient positioning and prepping for surgical procedures.
- Monitor and anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures.
- Maintain a sterile and safe environment in the operating room.
- Document and communicate all relevant information accurately and in a timely manner.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures.
- Continuously update and maintain knowledge of surgical techniques and procedures.
- Act as a resource and mentor to other members of the surgical team.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families pre and post-surgery.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in departmental meetings and trainings.
- Adhere to all hospital and regulatory guidelines and policies.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Attend to any other duties as assigned by the surgical team and/or department manager.
Certification As A Surgical First Assistant (Cfa) From A Nationally Recognized Organization, Such As The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Surgical First Assistant In An Acute Care Setting.
Proficiency In A Wide Range Of Surgical Specialties And Procedures, Including General, Orthopedic, Vascular, And Neurosurgery.
Strong Knowledge Of Surgical Anatomy, Principles Of Aseptic Technique, And Surgical Instrumentation.
Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills, With The Ability To Work Closely With Surgeons, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals To Ensure Safe And Effective Patient Care.
