- Perform surgical first assisting duties in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
- Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by providing tools, sutures, and other necessary items.
- Maintain a sterile and safe surgical environment at all times.
- Monitor patient vitals and assist with patient positioning during surgery.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
- Assist in the preparation and closure of surgical sites.
- Provide support and guidance to other members of the surgical team, including nurses and surgical technicians.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all surgical procedures.
- Continuously assess and report any changes in patient condition to the surgical team.
- Stay up-to-date with current trends and advancements in surgical techniques and technologies.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
- Demonstrate a commitment to patient-centered care and provide compassionate support to patients and their families.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Certified Surgical First Assistant (Csfa) Credential From The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Surgical First Assistant In A Hospital Or Surgical Center Setting.
Knowledge Of A Wide Range Of Surgical Procedures And Techniques, Including Minimally Invasive And Robotic Surgeries.
Familiarity With Sterile Techniques, Infection Control Protocols, And Surgical Equipment And Instruments.
Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills, With The Ability To Work Closely With Surgeons, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
