- Conduct thorough assessments of patient wounds, including location, size, depth, and drainage.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with wound care needs.
- Perform wound care treatments such as cleaning, dressing changes, and debridement according to established protocols and policies.
- Monitor and document wound healing progress and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
- Educate patients and their families on proper wound care techniques and self-management strategies.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare team members to provide comprehensive care for patients.
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment for wound care procedures.
- Stay updated on the latest wound care techniques and technologies and implement them in practice.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and medication administration.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during the wound care process.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care and patient satisfaction.
- Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and regulations related to wound care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of wound care protocols and best practices.
- Promote a positive and collaborative work culture by demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
- Attend continuing education programs and workshops to maintain and enhance wound care knowledge and skills.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution.
Current And Active Rn License In The State Of Employment.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Wound Care, Preferably In An Acute Care Setting.
Certification In Wound Care, Such As Wound Care Certified (Wcc) Or Certified Wound Specialist (Cws).
Strong Clinical Assessment And Critical Thinking Skills, With The Ability To Develop And Implement Effective Wound Care Treatment Plans.
