
RN Manager Operating Room - Pediatrics

- Oversee the daily operations of the Pediatric OR, ensuring efficient and effective functioning of the department.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain high standards of patient care and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of nurses and staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Manage staffing levels, schedules, and assignments to ensure adequate coverage and optimal patient flow.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of staff, providing feedback, coaching, and training as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments and healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
- Participate in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding process for new staff members.
- Manage budget and resources for the department, making decisions to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Act as a liaison between the OR team and hospital leadership, communicating updates, concerns, and suggestions for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols and take appropriate action to address any issues.
- Stay up-to-date on advancements and changes in pediatric healthcare, and implement best practices in the OR department.
- Serve as a role model for professional behavior and promote a culture of excellence, compassion, and patient-centered care.
- Handle any patient or staff complaints or concerns in a timely and effective manner.
- Collaborate with the Quality Improvement team to identify areas for improvement and implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as ethical and legal standards.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Is Required For This Role, With A Preference For Candidates Who Hold A Master's Degree In Nursing Or A Related Field.
Active Rn License: Candidates Must Possess An Active Rn License In The State Where They Will Be Working. Additional Certifications Such As Cnor And/Or Cpn Are Preferred.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Pediatric Operating Room Management: The Ideal Candidate Will Have At Least 5 Years Of Experience In Managing A Pediatric Operating Room, With A Proven Track Record Of Success In This Area.
Strong Leadership And Communication Skills: As A Manager, This Role Requires Excellent Leadership Skills To Effectively Manage And Motivate A Team. Excellent Communication Skills, Both Verbal And Written, Are Also Essential For Effective Collaboration With Other Departments And Stakeholders.
Knowledge Of Regulatory Requirements: Familiarity With State And Federal Regulations Related To Pediatric Operating Rooms Is Necessary For This Role. The Candidate Should Also Have A Strong Understanding Of Quality Standards And Best Practices In Pediatric Surgical Care.
