- Develop and implement an effective oncology services program in line with Ascension Health's mission and values.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and support staff, to ensure the delivery of high-quality care to cancer patients.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the oncology services program, and make necessary adjustments to improve patient outcomes.
- Serve as a resource and provide guidance to staff on best practices for oncology care, including evidence-based treatments and protocols.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations and resources to enhance the support services available to cancer patients.
- Coordinate and schedule appointments for patients, including consultations, treatments, and follow-up care.
- Conduct patient assessments and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation, adhering to all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Educate patients and their families about their condition, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
- Stay current on advancements in oncology care and treatment through attending conferences, workshops, and continuing education opportunities.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and their families throughout their cancer journey.
- Collaborate with insurance companies to ensure appropriate coverage and reimbursement for oncology services.
- Act as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers to facilitate communication and ensure a seamless care experience.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in maintaining accreditation standards for the oncology services program.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (Bsn) From An Accredited Institution.
Current And Valid Rn License In The State Of Practice.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Oncology Nursing.
Certification In Oncology Nursing (Ocn) Preferred.
Strong Leadership And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Coordinate And Collaborate With Interdisciplinary Teams.
