Job Description

  1. Provide compassionate and high-quality care to patients battling cancer.
  2. Utilize advanced knowledge and skills in oncology nursing to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  3. Administer chemotherapy and other specialized treatments according to established protocols and guidelines.
  4. Monitor and document patient responses to treatments, side effects, and any changes in condition.
  5. Educate patients and their families about their diagnosis, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
  6. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  7. Serve as a patient advocate and ensure that their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs are met.
  8. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient interactions and interventions.
  9. Participate in ongoing professional development and stay abreast of new advancements and best practices in oncology nursing.
  10. Foster a supportive and collaborative work environment by effectively communicating and collaborating with colleagues.
  11. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
  12. Demonstrate sensitivity, empathy, and respect towards patients, families, and colleagues.
  13. Act as a resource and mentor for new nurses and students within the oncology department.
  14. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor while working in a fast-paced and emotionally demanding environment.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve patient care processes to ensure the highest level of quality care is provided.

Job Qualifications
  • Current And Active Rn License In The State Of Employment

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (Bsn) From An Accredited University

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Oncology Nursing Experience

  • Certification In Oncology Nursing (Ocn) From A Recognized Organization (E.g. Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation)

  • Strong Clinical And Critical Thinking Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively In A Fast-Paced And Dynamic Environment
