Job Description

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse with a passion for caring for newborns and their families? Ascension Health is seeking a highly skilled RN to join our team in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).   1. Provide specialized care to premature and critically ill infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
  2. Monitor and assess the health and development of newborns, including vital signs, growth and nutrition, and response to treatments.
  3. Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by physicians.
  4. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans for infants.
  5. Educate and support families on caring for their newborns and provide emotional support during a challenging time.
  6. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation.
  7. Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify and address potential complications in newborns.
  8. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
  9. Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with advancements in neonatal nursing.
  10. Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and adhere to infection control protocols.
  11. Serve as a patient advocate and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  12. Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and professionalism in all interactions with patients and their families.
  13. Collaborate with other healthcare providers and participate in multidisciplinary rounds to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
  14. Continuously evaluate and improve upon nursing practices to enhance patient outcomes.
  15. Serve as a role model for nursing staff and mentor new nurses in the NICU.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (Bsn) From An Accredited Institution

  • Current And Active Rn License In The State Of Employment

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Neonatal Icu Setting

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) And Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Nrp) Certifications

  • Strong Clinical Skills And Knowledge In Neonatal Care, Including Respiratory Support, Iv Therapy, And Monitoring Of Critically Ill Infants.
