1. Provide high-quality postpartum care to new mothers and their babies, including monitoring vital signs, assisting with breastfeeding, and educating new mothers on infant care and postpartum recovery.
2. Assess and evaluate the physical and emotional well-being of mothers and babies, and promptly report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
3. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and ensure accurate documentation of all care provided.
4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for mothers and babies.
5. Educate and support new mothers in self-care practices and postpartum recovery, including physical activity, nutrition, and emotional well-being.
6. Provide emotional support and guidance to new mothers and families during the postpartum period, including addressing concerns and providing resources as needed.
7. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, to ensure the safety and well-being of patients and staff.
8. Act as an advocate for patients and their families, ensuring they are informed and involved in all aspects of their care.
9. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes, to ensure continuity of care and effective communication among the healthcare team.
10. Stay updated on best practices and advancements in maternal and newborn care, and actively participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities.
