  1. Provide compassionate and high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing cancer treatment in the Oncology department.
  2. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
  3. Monitor and assess patients' physical and emotional well-being, and adjust care plans accordingly.
  4. Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by physicians.
  5. Educate patients and their families about their diagnosis, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
  6. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation.
  7. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols and procedures.
  8. Advocate for patients' needs and ensure their rights are respected.
  9. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and provide input on patient care plans.
  10. Stay up-to-date with advancements and changes in oncology nursing through continuing education and professional development.
  11. Serve as a resource and mentor to other nursing staff in the Oncology department.
  12. Collaborate with other departments and community resources to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
  13. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  14. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor, and uphold the values and mission of Ascension Health.
  15. Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare team members to ensure a positive and supportive environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse License And Certification: The First And Most Important Qualification For A Registered Nurse - Oncology Job At Ascension Health Is An Active And Valid Rn License In The State Of Employment. In Addition, Candidates Must Also Hold A Current Certification In Oncology Nursing, Such As The Ocn (Oncology Certified Nurse) Or Aocn (Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse).

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: Ascension Health Requires All Rns To Have A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (Bsn). This Degree Provides A Strong Foundation In Nursing Theory And Practice, As Well As The Necessary Skills To Deliver Quality Patient Care.

  • Previous Oncology Nursing Experience: To Be Considered For A Registered Nurse - Oncology Job At Ascension Health, Candidates Must Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Previous Experience In An Oncology Nursing Role. This Experience Should Include Administering Chemotherapy, Managing Pain And Other Symptoms, And Providing Emotional Support To Patients And Their Families.

  • Strong Communication And Critical Thinking Skills: As A Registered Nurse - Oncology, Effective Communication And Critical Thinking Skills Are Essential For Providing Comprehensive Care To Cancer Patients.
