  1. Provide compassionate and dedicated care to newborns in the neonatal critical care unit.
  2. Monitor and assess the health status of patients, including vital signs, lab results, and changes in condition.
  3. Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by physicians.
  4. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  5. Educate and support families on proper care techniques for their newborns.
  6. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to ensure quality patient care.
  7. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
  8. Monitor equipment and supplies to ensure proper functioning and availability.
  9. Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulations to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  10. Continuously strive for professional growth and development through education and training opportunities.
  11. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  12. Serve as a role model for ethical and compassionate nursing practice.
  13. Demonstrate cultural competence and sensitivity in providing care to a diverse population.
  14. Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and families during difficult and stressful situations.

Job Qualifications
  • Valid Rn Licensure: A Registered Nurse - Neonatal Critical Care (Nicu) At Ascension Health Must Possess A Current And Unrestricted Rn License In The State Where They Will Be Working.

  • Neonatal Critical Care Certification: Candidates Must Hold A Valid Neonatal Critical Care Nursing (Ncc) Certification To Demonstrate Their Specialized Knowledge And Skills In Caring For Critically Ill Newborns.

  • Experience In Nicu Setting: Applicants Should Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Nicu Setting, With A Strong Understanding Of Neonatal Nursing Principles And Practices.

  • Acls And Pals Certification: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) And Pediatric Advanced Life Support (Pals) Certifications Are Required For This Position, As They Are Crucial For Providing Critical Care To Infants In The Nicu.

  • Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: As A Member Of The Nicu Team, A Registered Nurse Should Possess Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills To Collaborate Effectively With Other Healthcare Professionals And Provide The Best Possible Care For Their Patients.
