- Ensure a smooth and comfortable transition into motherhood for new mothers.
- Utilize strong clinical skills to assess and monitor the health of both mother and baby.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.

Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Related Field: Ascension Health Requires All Registered Nurses In The Mother Baby Department To Have A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or A Related Field. This Education Provides A Strong Foundation For Nursing Practice And Ensures That Nurses Are Well-Prepared To Provide High-Quality Care To Mothers And Babies.
Current And Unrestricted Rn License: All Applicants Must Hold A Current And Unrestricted Rn License In The State Where They Will Be Working. This License Ensures That The Nurse Has Met All Educational And Competency Requirements To Practice As A Registered Nurse.
Prior Experience In Mother Baby Or Obstetrics: Ascension Health Prefers Candidates Who Have Prior Experience Working In A Mother Baby Unit Or In Obstetrics. This Experience Demonstrates The Nurse's Knowledge And Skills In Caring For Mothers And Newborns, As Well As Their Ability To Handle Complex Situations.
Basic Life Support (Bls) And Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Nrp) Certifications: Ascension Health Requires All Registered Nurses In The Mother Baby Department To Hold Current Bls And Nrp Certifications. These Certifications Ensure That Nurses Are Trained In Life-Saving Techniques And Can Respond Quickly And Effectively In Emergency Situations.
