Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

1. Provide compassionate and dedicated care to mothers and their babies during the labor and delivery process.
2. Utilize strong critical thinking skills to assess and monitor the health of both mother and baby, and respond appropriately to any changes or complications.
3. Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient.
4. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and monitor their effectiveness.
5. Educate patients and their families on postpartum care, including breastfeeding, newborn care, and self-care for the mother.
6. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress and interventions.
7. Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols to ensure a safe and effective work environment.
8. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to promote positive relationships and provide excellent patient care.
9. Stay current with best practices and advancements in labor and delivery care through continuing education and professional development opportunities.
10. Demonstrate a commitment to quality improvement and participate in quality improvement initiatives within the department.
11. Serve as a role model and mentor for less experienced nurses and assist in their development and education.
12. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all aspects of patient care.
13. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure a seamless and coordinated care experience for patients.
14. Attend and actively participate in departmental meetings, committees, and other designated activities.
