1. Provide compassionate and high-quality care to mothers and newborns during labor and delivery.
2. Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients and their families.
3. Monitor and assess the health of mothers and newborns, and promptly report any changes or concerns.
4. Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians.
5. Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
6. Educate patients and their families on postpartum care and newborn care.
7. Utilize critical thinking skills to anticipate and respond to potential complications during labor and delivery.
8. Effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure a positive patient experience.
9. Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
10. Continuously update and maintain accurate patient records.
11. Act as a patient advocate and ensure patient rights and preferences are respected.
12. Stay current with advancements and best practices in labor and delivery nursing.
13. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
14. Provide support and guidance to less experienced staff.
15. Maintain a professional demeanor and uphold ethical standards at all times.
16. Attend required training and educational sessions to maintain licensure and enhance skills.
17. Collaborate with other departments and community resources to provide comprehensive care to patients.
18. Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a collaborative and supportive work environment.
19. Adhere to all infection control and safety protocols to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
20. Willingly take on additional responsibilities and tasks as needed to support the Labor and Delivery team.
