Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Polysomnographic Technologist to join our Sleep Lab team. In this role, you will play a vital role in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders, helping our patients achieve a better quality of life.   1. Conduct sleep studies: Perform various types of sleep studies, including overnight, daytime, and split-night studies, to diagnose and treat sleep disorders.
  2. Prepare patients: Educate patients on the sleep study process and ensure they are comfortable and properly prepared for the study.
  3. Monitor patients: Monitor patients during sleep studies using various equipment and techniques, making adjustments as needed to ensure accurate data collection.
  4. Record and analyze data: Accurately record and analyze data collected during sleep studies, including brain waves, eye movements, heart rate, and respiratory patterns.
  5. Troubleshoot equipment: Troubleshoot and maintain equipment used during sleep studies, ensuring it is in good working condition and properly calibrated.
  6. Collaborate with medical team: Work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to discuss and interpret patient results and develop treatment plans.
  7. Maintain patient records: Maintain accurate and complete patient records, including medical history, sleep study results, and treatment plans.
  8. Educate patients: Provide patients with information about their sleep disorder, treatment options, and lifestyle changes that can improve their sleep quality.
  9. Follow safety protocols: Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
  10. Stay updated on industry developments: Stay updated on current industry developments, including new techniques, equipment, and treatment options, and implement them into practice as appropriate.
  11. Maintain confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  12. Participate in training and development: Continuously develop skills and knowledge through attending training and participating in educational opportunities to enhance job performance.
  13. Collaborate with team members: Work collaboratively with other members of the sleep lab team to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
  14. Adhere to organizational policies: Follow all organizational policies and procedures, including those related to patient care, safety, and ethical standards.

Job Qualifications
  • Current Certification As A Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (Rpsgt) Through The Board Of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (Brpt).

  • Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field Such As Respiratory Therapy, Neurodiagnostics, Or Nursing.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In A Sleep Lab Setting, Performing Overnight Polysomnograms And Multiple Sleep Latency Tests.

  • Knowledge Of Sleep Disorders And Related Therapies, As Well As Experience With Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (Cpap) And Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure (Bipap) Devices.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, As Well As The Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Multidisciplinary Team.
