Job Description

If so, Ascension Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Polysomnographic Technologist to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital role in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders, providing patients with the care and support they need to achieve restful and restorative sleep.   1. Conduct comprehensive sleep studies using current polysomnography techniques and equipment.
  2. Review patient medical history and discuss sleep-related symptoms with patients to determine appropriate sleep study procedures.
  3. Set up and calibrate equipment, ensuring proper functioning and patient comfort.
  4. Monitor patients throughout sleep studies and make necessary adjustments to equipment.
  5. Analyze sleep study data and produce accurate and detailed reports for physicians.
  6. Collaborate with physicians to develop treatment plans for patients with sleep disorders.
  7. Educate patients on proper sleep hygiene and provide support and counseling for sleep-related issues.
  8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  9. Stay current on advancements in polysomnography and sleep disorder treatments.
  10. Adhere to safety and infection control protocols.
  11. Maintain a high level of professionalism and compassion while working with patients.
  12. Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to sleep disorder testing and treatment.
  13. Act as a liaison between patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  14. Provide excellent patient care in accordance with the organization's faith-based values.
  15. Continuously strive to improve the quality of care for patients with sleep disorders.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Polysomnographic Technologist (Cpsgt) Or Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (Rpsgt) Certification From The Board Of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (Brpt).

  • Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field Such As Respiratory Therapy, Nursing, Or Psychology.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Sleep Lab Or Related Healthcare Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Sleep Disorders, Diagnostic And Therapeutic Equipment, And Data Interpretation.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Well With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
