
Polysomnographic Technologist

- Conduct diagnostic sleep studies: Perform comprehensive sleep studies on patients using various polysomnography equipment and techniques to accurately diagnose and treat sleep disorders.
- Monitor patients during sleep studies: Observe and monitor patients' vital signs, sleep patterns, and behaviors during sleep studies to ensure accurate data collection.
- Administer treatment: Assist in the implementation of treatment plans for patients with sleep disorders, including setting up and adjusting continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) and other therapeutic devices.
- Educate patients: Provide education to patients on the importance of sleep and proper sleep hygiene, as well as how to use and maintain prescribed equipment.
- Maintain equipment: Ensure all polysomnography equipment is properly calibrated and maintained to ensure accurate results and patient safety.
- Document and report findings: Accurately document patient information, test results, and observations, and report any abnormalities or concerns to physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with healthcare team: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety: Create a safe and comfortable environment for patients during sleep studies, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
- Stay up-to-date on industry developments: Stay informed on the latest advancements and research in sleep medicine to provide the best possible care for patients.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures: Follow all hospital protocols and procedures, including maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to infection control guidelines.
Minimum Of An Associate's Degree In Polysomnography Or A Related Field.
Certification As A Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (Rpsgt) Through The Board Of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (Brpt).
At Least 1 Year Of Experience Working As A Polysomnographic Technologist In A Clinical Setting.
Knowledge And Proficiency In Operating Polysomnography Equipment And Software, As Well As Interpreting And Analyzing Sleep Study Data.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Educate And Interact With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
