Job Description

  1. Conduct diagnostic sleep studies: Perform comprehensive sleep studies on patients using various polysomnography equipment and techniques to accurately diagnose and treat sleep disorders.
  2. Monitor patients during sleep studies: Observe and monitor patients' vital signs, sleep patterns, and behaviors during sleep studies to ensure accurate data collection.
  3. Administer treatment: Assist in the implementation of treatment plans for patients with sleep disorders, including setting up and adjusting continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) and other therapeutic devices.
  4. Educate patients: Provide education to patients on the importance of sleep and proper sleep hygiene, as well as how to use and maintain prescribed equipment.
  5. Maintain equipment: Ensure all polysomnography equipment is properly calibrated and maintained to ensure accurate results and patient safety.
  6. Document and report findings: Accurately document patient information, test results, and observations, and report any abnormalities or concerns to physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  7. Collaborate with healthcare team: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
  8. Ensure patient comfort and safety: Create a safe and comfortable environment for patients during sleep studies, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
  9. Stay up-to-date on industry developments: Stay informed on the latest advancements and research in sleep medicine to provide the best possible care for patients.
  10. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures: Follow all hospital protocols and procedures, including maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to infection control guidelines.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of An Associate's Degree In Polysomnography Or A Related Field.

  • Certification As A Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (Rpsgt) Through The Board Of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (Brpt).

  • At Least 1 Year Of Experience Working As A Polysomnographic Technologist In A Clinical Setting.

  • Knowledge And Proficiency In Operating Polysomnography Equipment And Software, As Well As Interpreting And Analyzing Sleep Study Data.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Educate And Interact With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
