- Conduct comprehensive sleep studies on patients using various monitoring equipment, including EEG, EKG, and respiratory sensors.
- Prepare patients for sleep studies, explaining the procedure and addressing any questions or concerns.
- Monitor patients during sleep studies, ensuring accurate and complete data collection.
- Analyze and interpret sleep study results, identifying and documenting any abnormalities or potential sleep disorders.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to determine appropriate treatment plans for patients.
- Educate patients on sleep disorders, treatment options, and the importance of healthy sleep habits.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient information, including sleep study results and treatment plans.
- Follow all safety and infection control protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of patients.
- Maintain and troubleshoot equipment, ensuring proper functioning and calibration.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and stay up-to-date on current best practices in polysomnography.
- Provide exceptional patient care, demonstrating empathy, compassion, and professionalism at all times.
- Comply with all organizational policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations.
- Attend training and continuing education opportunities to maintain and expand knowledge and skills.
- Act as a patient advocate, promoting their rights and ensuring their needs are met.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to improve patient outcomes and the overall functioning of the sleep disorder program.
- Participate in on-call and weekend rotations as needed.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards, maintaining confidentiality and privacy of patient information.
- Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of Ascension Health, promoting a culture of compassion and excellence in patient care.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required by the sleep disorder program manager.
Valid Certification As A Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (Rpsgt) Through The Board Of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (Brpt).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Sleep Lab Setting.
In-Depth Knowledge Of Sleep Disorders, Diagnostic Procedures, And Treatment Options.
Familiarity With Electronic Medical Records And Ability To Accurately Document Patient Data.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
