Job Description

Ascension Health is seeking an experienced and results-oriented Physician Office Billing Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for handling physician office billing functions and ensuring accurate and timely payments. You will be a critical part of the team that will ensure that the financial operations of the physician office are running efficiently and effectively.To be successful in this role, you should have experience in medical billing and coding, with a strong understanding of office and medical billing practices. You should be highly organized and have excellent problem-solving skills. You should also be able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Above all, you should have an eye for detail and the ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities:

  1. Manage physician office billing functions to ensure accurate and timely payments.
  2. Develop and maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  3. Monitor and troubleshoot any billing issues and provide solutions.
  4. Resolve any discrepancies in accounts and provide timely updates.
  5. Analyze and adjust billing processes to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
  6. Prepare and submit claims in a timely manner.
  7. Monitor accounts receivable and take corrective action when necessary.
  8. Generate monthly reports to analyze billing activity and provide recommendations for improvement.
  9. Maintain accurate records of billing activities and patient information.
  10. Assist in training new staff members on billing and coding procedures.
