- Collect and process blood samples from patients for diagnostic testing.
- Ensure accurate and timely labeling of all blood samples.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the phlebotomy area.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
- Communicate effectively with patients to ease any anxiety or concerns about the blood collection process.
- Properly handle and dispose of all biohazardous materials.
- Verify patient information and confirm the correct tests are ordered.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all blood samples collected.
- Troubleshoot any issues with sample collection or processing.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
- Stay up-to-date on all industry standard practices and procedures for phlebotomy.
- Adhere to all regulatory and compliance guidelines.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of necessary supplies.
- Provide exceptional customer service and uphold the values of Ascension Health.
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings and training sessions.
Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education.
Completion Of An Accredited Phlebotomy Technician Program.
Current Certification As A Phlebotomy Technician (Cpt) From A Nationally Recognized Organization, Such As The National Healthcareer Association (Nha) Or American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp).
At Least 1 Year Of Experience Working As A Phlebotomy Technician In A Healthcare Setting.
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology, Infection Control Protocols, And Safety Procedures Related To Phlebotomy.
