Perfusionist - Adult and Pediatric

We are currently seeking a skilled Perfusionist to join our team and provide adult and pediatric perfusion services. As a Perfusionist, you will play a vital role in our cardiovascular surgery team, utilizing your expertise to operate and maintain heart-lung machines during open-heart surgeries and other procedures. 1. Operate and maintain heart-lung machines during open-heart surgeries and other procedures, including setting up and monitoring equipment, adjusting blood flow and pressure, and administering medications as directed by the surgeon.
2. Monitor patient’s vital signs and make necessary adjustments to the heart-lung machine to maintain safe and effective perfusion.
3. Assist with the insertion and removal of arterial and venous cannulas for cardiopulmonary bypass.
4. Ensure the proper functioning of all equipment and troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise during procedures.
5. Maintain accurate and thorough records of perfusion data and patient information.
6. Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure the safety and well-being of the patient before, during, and after surgery.
7. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
8. Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding perfusion procedures and equipment.
9. Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements and techniques in perfusion technology and participate in continuing education opportunities.
10. Serve as a resource and mentor to other perfusionists and healthcare team members.
11. Maintain professional and ethical standards in all interactions with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
12. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including confidentiality and patient privacy regulations.
13. Communicate effectively with all members of the healthcare team to ensure efficient and coordinated care for patients.
14. Continuously evaluate and improve practices to enhance patient outcomes and promote a positive patient experience.
15. Demonstrate a strong commitment to patient care and uphold the mission and values of Ascension Health.
