Job Description

Welcome to Ascension Health! We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team.   1. Provide nursing care to pediatric patients and their families in a compassionate and professional manner.
  2. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
  3. Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the physician.
  4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  5. Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions and treatments.
  6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for each patient.
  7. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
  8. Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare team members.
  9. Display a positive and empathetic attitude towards patients and their families.
  10. Keep abreast of current trends and developments in pediatric nursing and implement them in daily practice.
  11. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
  12. Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during difficult times.
  13. Adhere to the organization's code of ethics and policies.
  14. Attend and actively participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve nursing skills and knowledge through self-directed learning and seeking feedback.

Job Qualifications
  • Current Lvn License In The State Of Employment: The Candidate Must Hold A Current And Active License As A Licensed Vocational Nurse In The State Where The Position Is Located.

  • Minimum Of 1 Year Of Pediatric Nursing Experience: Ascension Health Requires A Minimum Of 1 Year Of Experience Working As An Lvn In A Pediatric Setting. This Experience Should Include Administering Medications, Providing Wound Care, And Monitoring Vital Signs For Pediatric Patients.

  • Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: The Candidate Should Have A Current Bls Certification From The American Heart Association Or The American Red Cross. This Certification Must Be Maintained Throughout Employment.

  • Knowledge Of Pediatric Care Best Practices: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Knowledge Of Current Best Practices In Pediatric Care, Including Immunizations, Growth And Development Milestones, And Common Childhood Illnesses.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Pediatric Lvn, The Candidate Will Be Working Closely With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals. Therefore, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Building Positive Relationships And Providing Quality Care.
