Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and talented Patient Care Technician - Surgery to join the Ascension Health team. Our ideal candidate will be a kind-hearted individual with experience in a surgery setting who excels in providing high-quality patient care.The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the care of patients in the surgery department. They will provide assistance to the healthcare team by performing a variety of duties, including pre- and post-operative care, preparing and stocking supplies, and helping to provide a safe and comfortable environment for our patients.The successful candidate must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. In addition, they should have at least one year of experience in a surgery setting. Knowledge of pre- and post-operative care, CPR certification, and EKG certification is preferred. Responsibilities:

  1. Assisting with the care of patients in the surgery department.
  2. Preparing and stocking supplies.
  3. Helping to provide a safe and comfortable environment for patients.
  4. Maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  5. Administering pre- and post-operative care.
  6. Responding to patient inquiries and concerns.
  7. Monitoring and documenting patient vital signs.
  8. Assisting with patient education on post-operative care.
  9. Performing EKG and other medical tests as needed.
  10. Maintaining records of patient care and treatments.
  11. Following hospital protocols and safety standards.
  12. Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.

Job Qualifications
