- Provide compassionate and empathetic care to patients with neurological conditions.
- Assist with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and toileting.
- Monitor and record patients' vital signs and report any changes or abnormalities to the healthcare team.
- Administer medication and treatments as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Perform basic nursing procedures, such as wound care, catheterization, and blood draws.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure a positive and supportive experience.
- Document all patient interactions and interventions accurately and in a timely manner.

- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.

Certification In Patient Care Technician Program: Ascension Health Requires Candidates For The Patient Care Technician - Neurology Position To Have Completed An Accredited Patient Care Technician Program. This Ensures That The Individual Has Received Proper Training And Is Qualified To Perform The Necessary Tasks In A Neurology Setting.
Experience In Neurology: A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience In A Neurology Setting Is Preferred For This Position. This Experience Should Include Knowledge Of Common Neurological Conditions, Treatment Protocols, And Equipment Used In Patient Care.
Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: As A Healthcare Organization, Ascension Health Places A High Priority On Patient Safety. Bls Certification Is Required For All Patient Care Technicians To Ensure They Are Equipped To Handle Emergency Situations And Provide Basic Life Support Measures When Needed.
Strong Communication Skills: Patient Care Technicians In A Neurology Setting Are Responsible For Communicating With Patients, Families, And Healthcare Providers. Therefore, Strong Communication Skills Are Essential To Ensure Effective And Compassionate Care Is Provided To Patients.
Attention To Detail: Working In A Neurology Setting Requires A High Level Of Attention To Detail.
