Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our dedicated team. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping patients achieve their maximum level of independence and functioning.   1. Implement treatment plans: Collaborate with occupational therapists to implement individualized treatment plans for patients based on their needs and goals.
  2. Conduct therapy sessions: Lead therapy sessions with patients, following the prescribed treatment plan and using appropriate techniques and equipment.
  3. Monitor patient progress: Observe and document patient progress and communicate any changes or concerns to the occupational therapist.
  4. Assist with patient evaluations: Help the occupational therapist conduct initial evaluations and assessments of patients to determine their needs and develop treatment plans.
  5. Educate patients and caregivers: Provide education to patients and their caregivers on therapeutic techniques and exercises to be done at home to promote progress and independence.
  6. Maintain equipment and supplies: Ensure therapy equipment and supplies are properly maintained and stocked, and report any issues or needs to the appropriate person.
  7. Collaborate with healthcare team: Work closely with other members of the healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and social workers, to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity of treatment.
  8. Communicate with patients and families: Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients and their families, providing support and answering any questions or concerns they may have.
  9. Adhere to professional standards: Follow all professional and ethical guidelines, including maintaining patient confidentiality and upholding the code of conduct of Ascension Health.
  10. Attend trainings and meetings: Participate in professional development opportunities, attend team meetings, and stay updated on new techniques and best practices in occupational therapy.

Job Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree In Occupational Therapy Assistant Program From An Accredited Institution.

  • Valid State License Or Certification As An Occupational Therapy Assistant.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In Occupational Therapy.

  • Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team And Independently With Minimal Supervision.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Interact With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
