  5. Assist with procedures and treatments: Under the guidance of our nursing team, you may be asked to assist with various procedures and treatments, such as wound care, catheter insertion, or specimen collection.
  6. Communicate with patients and families: As a Nursing Intern, you will have direct contact with patients and their families. You will be responsible for providing updates on patient progress and addressing any questions or concerns they may have.

Job Qualifications
  • Current Enrollment In An Accredited Nursing Program: Candidates For A Nursing Intern Position At Ascension Health Must Be Currently Enrolled In An Accredited Nursing Program, With At Least One Year Of Nursing Education Completed.

  • Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: As A Healthcare Provider, A Nursing Intern Must Have A Current Bls Certification From The American Heart Association Or The American Red Cross.

  • Strong Communication Skills: The Ability To Communicate Effectively With Patients, Families, And Healthcare Team Members Is Essential For A Nursing Intern In The Respiratory Step Down & Acute Care Unit.

  • Knowledge Of Respiratory Care: This Position Requires A Strong Understanding Of Respiratory Care, Including The Use Of Oxygen Therapy, Chest Physiotherapy, And Mechanical Ventilation.

  • Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: The Respiratory Step Down & Acute Care Unit Can Be A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment, So Candidates Must Be Able To Thrive Under Pressure And Handle Multiple Tasks At Once.
