- Perform nuclear medicine procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions.
- Ensure the accurate and safe administration of radioactive materials to patients.
- Operate and maintain nuclear medicine equipment and troubleshoot any technical issues.
- Follow established protocols and safety measures to minimize radiation exposure for patients and staff.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of procedures performed, patient information, and radioactive materials used.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to determine the most appropriate nuclear medicine procedures for each patient.
- Educate and prepare patients for nuclear medicine procedures, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- Monitor patients during and after procedures for any adverse reactions and provide appropriate care.
- Stay updated on advancements and changes in nuclear medicine technology and procedures.
- Adhere to all regulatory and safety guidelines, including those set by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and Joint Commission.
- Maintain a professional and compassionate attitude towards patients, providing high-quality care and ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards in all aspects of work, including patient confidentiality and informed consent.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate reporting of results.
- Stay up-to-date with all licensure and certification requirements and maintain current credentials.
Bachelor's Degree In Nuclear Medicine Technology Or Related Field From An Accredited Institution.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Facility.
Certification By The Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (Nmtcb) Or American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (Arrt).
Knowledge Of Radiation Safety, Anatomy, Physiology, And Pharmacology Related To Nuclear Medicine Procedures.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively In A Team And With Patients From Diverse Backgrounds.
