- Accurately code medical procedures and diagnoses using current coding guidelines and regulations.
- Review and analyze medical records to ensure proper documentation and code assignment.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to resolve coding discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in coding guidelines and regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Verify and ensure completeness of coding data for billing and reimbursement purposes.
- Assist with training and educating medical staff on proper coding procedures.
- Utilize electronic medical record systems to input and retrieve coding information.
- Adhere to organizational policies and procedures related to coding and billing.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in all coding activities.
- Communicate effectively with team members and healthcare professionals to ensure proper coding practices.
- Participate in audits and quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with coding guidelines.
- Contribute to the overall success of the organization by consistently meeting coding goals and objectives.
- Act as a resource for coding-related inquiries and provide support for other departments as needed.
- Continuously strive to improve coding processes and identify areas for process improvement.
Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs) Or Certified Professional Coder (Cpc) Certification From The American Health Information Management Association (Ahima) Or The American Academy Of Professional Coders (Aapc).
Minimum Of 2 Years Coding Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Large Healthcare Organization.
In-Depth Knowledge Of Icd-10, Cpt, And Hcpcs Coding Systems And Guidelines.
Familiarity With Electronic Health Record (Ehr) Systems And Coding Software, Such As Epic Or 3M.
Strong Attention To Detail And Ability To Accurately Assign Codes And Abstract Medical Information.
