Job Description

  1. Develop and implement infection prevention policies and procedures in accordance with national and local guidelines and regulations.
  2. Conduct regular audits and assessments of infection control practices to identify potential areas for improvement.
  3. Stay up-to-date on current infection control trends and best practices to inform and update policies and procedures.
  4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to promote a culture of infection prevention and control throughout the organization.
  5. Train and educate staff on infection control protocols and procedures to ensure compliance and understanding.
  6. Investigate and respond to any potential outbreaks or incidents of healthcare-associated infections.
  7. Monitor and analyze infection data to identify trends and implement interventions to prevent future infections.
  8. Work closely with environmental services to ensure proper cleaning and disinfection protocols are being followed.
  9. Participate in the development and implementation of emergency preparedness plans related to infection control.
  10. Serve as a resource for staff and patients regarding infection control measures and answer any questions or concerns.
  11. Collaborate with local and state health departments to report and track communicable diseases.
  12. Keep accurate records and reports related to infection control activities and outcomes.
  13. Conduct research and gather data to support evidence-based infection control practices.
  14. Serve as a liaison between the organization and infection control regulatory agencies.
  15. Proactively identify and address potential infection control risks and implement corrective actions as needed.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Or Master’s Degree In A Healthcare-Related Field (E.g. Nursing, Public Health, Epidemiology)

  • Certification In Infection Prevention And Control (E.g. Cic)

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Infection Prevention And Control In A Healthcare Setting

  • Strong Knowledge Of Infection Prevention Protocols And Guidelines (E.g. Cdc, Cms)

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Educate And Collaborate With Healthcare Staff And Leadership
