
Hospice Nurse Manager- Pediatric

- Oversee and manage a team of nurses and support staff in providing end-of-life care for pediatric patients.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided by the team to ensure it meets the organization's standards and procedures.
- Develop and implement policies and protocols for the pediatric hospice program.
- Lead and mentor the nursing team, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care for pediatric patients and their families.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff to improve their skills and performance.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards related to pediatric hospice care.
- Manage the budget for the pediatric hospice program, including staffing, supplies, and equipment.
- Act as a liaison between the hospice program and other departments within the organization.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation and records for patients and staff.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care plans and ensure coordination of care.
- Serve as a resource for families and staff, providing support and education related to pediatric hospice care.
- Stay current on best practices and advancements in pediatric hospice care and incorporate them into the program.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance the program and services provided.
- Maintain open and effective communication with all stakeholders, including patients, families, staff, and leadership.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Related Field: A Hospice Nurse Manager- Pediatric Should Have A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or A Related Field. This Education Provides A Strong Foundation In Nursing Principles And Prepares Candidates For The Responsibilities Of A Leadership Role.
Pediatric Experience: Ascension Health Seeks Candidates With A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Clinical Experience In Pediatric Nursing, Preferably In A Hospice Or Palliative Care Setting. This Experience Provides A Deep Understanding Of The Unique Needs And Challenges Of Caring For Pediatric Patients And Their Families.
Leadership Skills: A Hospice Nurse Manager- Pediatric Should Have Strong Leadership Skills To Effectively Manage A Team Of Nurses And Support Staff. This Includes The Ability To Delegate Tasks, Communicate Effectively, And Make Difficult Decisions When Needed.
Knowledge Of Hospice And Palliative Care: Candidates Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Hospice And Palliative Care Principles, As Well As Current Best Practices In This Field. This Knowledge Is Essential For Providing High-Quality Care To Pediatric Patients And Families In A Hospice Setting.
