- Develop and implement policies and procedures that comply with local, state, and federal regulations related to infection control.
- Oversee and manage the infection control program for all healthcare facilities within the organization.
- Conduct regular assessments and audits to identify potential areas of risk and implement corrective actions.
- Provide education and training to healthcare staff on infection control practices and protocols.
- Collaborate with other departments and healthcare professionals to develop and implement infection prevention initiatives.
- Stay updated on current trends and best practices in infection control and make recommendations for improvement.
- Monitor and analyze infection data to identify trends and implement strategies to reduce infection rates.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external agencies and organizations related to infection control.
- Serve as a resource and provide guidance to healthcare staff on infection control protocols and procedures.
- Lead and facilitate infection control committees and meetings.
- Ensure compliance with infection control standards during new construction or renovation projects.
- Prepare and present reports on infection control activities and outcomes to senior leadership.
- Maintain accurate and complete records related to infection control activities.
- Stay informed on potential outbreaks or epidemics and develop plans to prevent and control the spread of infection.
- Stay updated on emerging pathogens and implement appropriate infection control measures.
- Participate in the development and review of emergency preparedness plans related to infection control.
- Foster a culture of safety and infection prevention throughout the organization.
- Manage and monitor the budget for the infection control program.
- Handle any infection control-related incidents or concerns in a timely and effective manner.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to infection control.
Certification In Infection Control (Cic) From The Certification Board Of Infection Control And Epidemiology (Cbic).
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing, Public Health, Epidemiology, Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Infection Control, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting.
Strong Understanding Of Infection Control Regulations And Guidelines From Organizations Such As The Centers For Disease Control And Prevention (Cdc) And The World Health Organization (Who).
Excellent Leadership And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Educate And Train Staff On Infection Control Practices And Protocols.
