- Administer Anesthesia: The CRNA will be responsible for administering anesthesia to patients undergoing surgical procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process.
- Monitor Patient Vital Signs: It is the CRNA's responsibility to continuously monitor and assess the patient's vital signs during anesthesia to identify any potential complications and take necessary actions.
- Collaborate with Healthcare Team: The CRNA will work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare team members to develop an appropriate anesthesia plan for each patient and ensure a smooth and successful procedure.
- Maintain Equipment and Supplies: The CRNA will be responsible for maintaining and stocking anesthesia equipment and supplies to ensure they are in good working condition and readily available when needed.
- Educate Patients: The CRNA will educate patients and their families about the anesthesia process, potential risks and side effects, and post-operative care instructions.
- Document Patient Information: Accurate and timely documentation of patient information, anesthesia plan, and any complications or adverse reactions is a crucial responsibility of the CRNA.
- Follow Safety Protocols: It is the CRNA's responsibility to adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and themselves.

Minimum Education Requirements: A Crna At Ascension Health Must Possess A Master's Degree In Nurse Anesthesia From An Accredited Program.
Current Rn License: Candidates Must Hold A Current, Active Rn License In The State Where They Will Be Practicing As A Crna.
Certification: Candidates Must Be Certified By The National Board Of Certification And Recertification For Nurse Anesthetists (Nbcrna) And Maintain Certification Throughout Their Employment.
Clinical Experience: A Minimum Of Two Years Of Full-Time Experience As A Registered Nurse In An Acute Care Setting Is Required, With At Least One Year In Critical Care.
Interpersonal And Communication Skills: Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Crnas At Ascension Health, As They Work Closely With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals In A High-Stress Environment.
