
Clinical Pharmacy Manager

- Lead and Manage Pharmacy Services: The primary responsibility of the Clinical Pharmacy Manager will be to oversee and manage all aspects of the pharmacy services offered at Ascension Health. This includes but is not limited to, ensuring the proper dispensing and delivery of medications, maintaining accurate inventory levels, and monitoring pharmacy budget.
- Provide Exceptional Pharmaceutical Care: The Clinical Pharmacy Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all patients receive exceptional pharmaceutical care. This includes reviewing medication orders, counseling patients on their medications, and monitoring for any potential drug interactions or adverse effects.
- Supervise Pharmacy Team: The Clinical Pharmacy Manager will oversee a team of pharmacists and technicians, providing guidance, support, and direction to ensure the smooth operation of the pharmacy department. This includes creating schedules, conducting performance evaluations, and fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Collaborate with Healthcare Providers: The Clinical Pharmacy Manager will work closely with healthcare providers to ensure that medications are prescribed and used appropriately. This may include participating in interdisciplinary team meetings and providing medication therapy management services.
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance: The Clinical Pharmacy Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all pharmacy operations comply with state and federal regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures. This includes maintaining accurate records, conducting regular audits, and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
- Develop and Implement Policies and Procedures: The Clinical Pharmacy Manager will continuously evaluate and improve pharmacy processes by developing and implementing policies and procedures to optimize efficiency and patient care.
- Stay Current with Industry Developments: As a Clinical Pharmacy Manager, it is crucial to stay updated on new medications, treatment guidelines, and industry developments. This includes attending conferences, seminars, and staying informed through professional organizations.
- Train and Mentor Staff: The Clinical Pharmacy Manager will be responsible for training new staff members and providing ongoing education and development opportunities for the pharmacy team.
- Foster a Culture of Continuous Improvement: The Clinical Pharmacy Manager will promote a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging staff to provide feedback and suggestions
Minimum Of A Doctor Of Pharmacy (Pharmd) Degree From An Accredited Institution.
At Least 5 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Pharmacy Role, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting.
Demonstrated Leadership Skills And Experience Managing A Team Of Pharmacists And Pharmacy Technicians.
Strong Knowledge Of Pharmacy Operations, Including Medication Dispensing, Inventory Management, And Regulatory Compliance.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate Effectively With Other Healthcare Professionals And Build Relationships With Patients.
