1. Develop and implement the overall clinical informatics strategy for Ascension Health, in alignment with the organization's goals and objectives.
2. Lead a team of informatics professionals, providing direction, guidance, and mentorship to support their development and ensure their success.
3. Collaborate with key stakeholders, including clinical staff, IT teams, and executive leadership, to identify and prioritize informatics initiatives that will improve patient outcomes, streamline processes, and reduce costs.
4. Stay current on industry trends and advancements in healthcare informatics, and proactively identify opportunities to leverage new technologies and data-driven solutions to enhance patient care.
5. Oversee the implementation and optimization of clinical informatics systems and tools, ensuring they meet the needs of our clinicians and align with best practices.
6. Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and vendors, negotiating contracts and managing vendor performance to ensure the highest level of service and value.
7. Serve as a subject matter expert on clinical informatics, providing guidance and support to cross-functional teams and departments to drive successful adoption and integration of informatics solutions.
8. Monitor and analyze data to identify areas for improvement and measure the impact of informatics initiatives on patient outcomes, quality of care, and operational efficiency.
9. Communicate regularly with executive leadership and other stakeholders to provide updates on informatics initiatives, progress, and challenges, and make recommendations for future strategies.
10. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to healthcare informatics, including HIPAA, HITECH, and other relevant standards.
11. Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement, promoting innovation and collaboration across the organization to drive advancements in clinical informatics.
12. Manage the budget for clinical informatics initiatives, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to financial goals.
