- Develop and implement the overall clinical informatics strategy for Ascension Health, in alignment with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Lead a team of informatics professionals, providing direction, guidance, and mentorship to support their development and ensure their success.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including clinical staff, IT teams, and executive leadership, to identify and prioritize informatics initiatives that will improve patient outcomes, streamline processes, and reduce costs.
- Stay current on industry trends and advancements in healthcare informatics, and proactively identify opportunities to leverage new technologies and data-driven solutions to enhance patient care.
- Oversee the implementation and optimization of clinical informatics systems and tools, ensuring they meet the needs of our clinicians and align with best practices.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and vendors, negotiating contracts and managing vendor performance to ensure the highest level of service and value.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on clinical informatics, providing guidance and support to cross-functional teams and departments to drive successful adoption and integration of informatics solutions.
- Monitor and analyze data to identify areas for improvement and measure the impact of informatics initiatives on patient outcomes, quality of care, and operational efficiency.
- Communicate regularly with executive leadership and other stakeholders to provide updates on informatics initiatives, progress, and challenges, and make recommendations for future strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to healthcare informatics, including HIPAA, HITECH, and other relevant standards.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement, promoting innovation and collaboration across the organization to drive advancements in clinical informatics.
- Manage the budget for clinical informatics initiatives, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to financial goals.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clinical staff, gaining their trust and buy-in to support the successful implementation and adoption of informatics solutions.
