  1. Provide administrative support to the nursing department, including but not limited to scheduling appointments, maintaining records, and responding to inquiries.
  2. Ensure accuracy and completeness of patient records, including entering and updating information in electronic systems.
  3. Assist in organizing and coordinating meetings, events, and trainings for the nursing department.
  4. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to provide exceptional customer service and address any concerns or questions.
  5. Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of services.
  6. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
  7. Perform data entry and generate reports as needed to support the nursing department's operations and decision-making.
  8. Monitor and order office supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained.
  9. Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by the nursing department leadership.
  10. Act as a liaison between the nursing department and other departments within the organization.
  11. Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and implement changes as directed by the nursing department leadership.
  12. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring compliance with all safety and infection control protocols.
  13. Keep abreast of industry trends and developments, and apply new knowledge and skills to enhance job performance.
  14. Participate in training and development activities to maintain and improve job-related skills and knowledge.
  15. Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures, including those related to confidentiality, safety, and ethical standards.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For A Clerk-Non-Clinical Nursing Administration Job At Ascension Health Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Level Of Education And Is Able To Perform Clerical Tasks Accurately.

  • Prior Clerical Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Ascension Health Is A Healthcare Organization, Therefore, Prior Experience In A Healthcare Setting Is Preferred For This Role. This Includes Experience In A Clerical Or Administrative Role Within A Hospital, Clinic, Or Other Healthcare Facility.

  • Strong Communication And Organizational Skills: As A Clerk-Non-Clinical Nursing Administration, One Must Possess Excellent Communication And Organizational Skills. This Includes The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Staff, And Other Healthcare Professionals, As Well As The Ability To Manage And Prioritize Multiple Tasks.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: A Basic Knowledge Of Medical Terminology Is Important For This Role As The Candidate Will Be Working Closely With Medical Records, Patient Information, And Other Healthcare-Related Documents.

  • Proficiency In Computer Skills: In Today's Digital Age, Proficiency In Computer Skills Is Essential For Any Clerical Job. This Includes Knowledge Of Basic Computer Programs Such As Microsoft Office, As Well As Experience With Electronic Medical Records And Other Healthcare-Specific Software.
