  1. Provide emotional and psychological support to pediatric patients and their families during difficult times.
  2. Utilize knowledge of child development and psychology to develop appropriate interventions and coping strategies for patients and families.
  3. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure holistic and comprehensive care for pediatric patients.
  4. Create and implement developmentally-appropriate activities and programs to help patients cope with medical procedures and hospitalization.
  5. Advocate for the needs and rights of pediatric patients within the healthcare system.
  6. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers to educate them on coping techniques and available resources.
  7. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient interactions and progress.
  8. Stay current on best practices and research in the field of child life and incorporate into daily practice.
  9. Work closely with hospital staff to identify and address psychosocial needs of pediatric patients.
  10. Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and provide input on patient care plans.
  11. Act as a liaison between patients, families, and hospital staff to ensure a positive hospital experience for pediatric patients.
  12. Collaborate with community organizations to provide additional support and resources for patients and families.
  13. Serve as an advocate for the importance of child life services and promote the profession within the hospital and community.
  14. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions with patients, families, and caregivers.
  15. Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Child Life, Child Development, Or A Related Field.

  • Certification As A Certified Child Life Specialist (Ccls) Through The Child Life Council.

  • Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience Working As A Child Life Specialist In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Child Development, Family Dynamics, And Age-Appropriate Therapeutic Interventions.

  • Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team And Provide Emotional Support To Children And Families Facing Medical Challenges.
