Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of An Accredited Sterile Processing Technician Program: A Certified Sterile Processing Technician At Ascension Health Must Have Completed An Accredited Program In Sterile Processing, Such As A Certificate Or Associate's Degree Program.

  • Certification In Sterile Processing: Candidates Must Hold A Current Certification From A Recognized Organization, Such As The Certification Board For Sterile Processing And Distribution (Cbspd) Or The International Association Of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (Iahcsmm).

  • Knowledge Of Sterilization Techniques And Infection Control: A Strong Understanding Of Sterilization Methods And Infection Control Protocols Is Necessary For Ensuring Patient Safety And Preventing The Spread Of Healthcare-Associated Infections.

  • Familiarity With Medical Equipment And Instruments: Certified Sterile Processing Technicians Must Have A Working Knowledge Of Medical Equipment And Instruments Commonly Used In Healthcare Settings, As Well As The Ability To Identify And Troubleshoot Potential Issues.

  • Attention To Detail And Organizational Skills: This Role Requires Meticulous Attention To Detail And Excellent Organizational Skills To Ensure That Medical Equipment And Instruments Are Properly Cleaned, Sterilized, And Stored For Future Use.
