Job Description

Ascension Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our Endocrinology team. As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing quality care to our patients with endocrine disorders.   1. Provide administrative support: The Certified Medical Assistant will be responsible for performing administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, and assisting with billing and insurance claims.
  2. Assist with patient care: The incumbent will work closely with the Endocrinologist to provide high-quality care to patients with endocrine disorders. This includes taking vital signs, performing basic medical procedures, and educating patients on their condition and treatment plan.
  3. Ensure patient comfort and safety: The Certified Medical Assistant will be responsible for creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for patients. This includes preparing exam rooms, ensuring equipment is properly sterilized, and addressing any patient concerns or questions.
  4. Collaborate with healthcare team: As a member of the Endocrinology team, the incumbent will work closely with other medical professionals, including nurses, physicians, and specialists, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
  5. Maintain a strong understanding of endocrinology: The Certified Medical Assistant will be expected to keep up-to-date on the latest developments and best practices in endocrinology. This includes attending training and continuing education opportunities.
  6. Adhere to policies and procedures: The incumbent will be responsible for following all Ascension Health policies and procedures related to patient care, documentation, and confidentiality.
  7. Foster a compassionate and caring environment: As a caregiver, the Certified Medical Assistant will be expected to demonstrate empathy, compassion, and respect towards patients and their families.
  8. Demonstrate professionalism: The incumbent will be expected to maintain a professional demeanor at all times and adhere to ethical standards in accordance with Ascension Health's values.
  9. Maintain accurate records: The Certified Medical Assistant will be responsible for accurately documenting all patient information, test results, and treatment plans in the electronic medical record system.
  10. Maintain equipment and supplies: The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that all medical equipment and supplies are properly maintained and stocked, and notifying appropriate personnel when supplies need to be replenished.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of An Accredited Medical Assistant Program: Candidates Must Have Completed A Formal Training Program From An Accredited Institution To Ensure They Have The Necessary Knowledge And Skills For The Job.

  • Certification As A Medical Assistant: The Candidate Must Hold A Valid Certification As A Certified Medical Assistant (Cma) Through The American Association Of Medical Assistants (Aama) Or The National Healthcareer Association (Nha).

  • Specialization In Endocrinology: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience And Specialized Training In Endocrinology, Including A Thorough Understanding Of Endocrine Disorders, Treatments, And Procedures.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Certified Medical Assistant In A Specialized Field, It Is Essential To Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Work With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
