  1. Provide compassionate care to patients with allergies and immunology needs.
  2. Assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients with allergies and immunological conditions.
  3. Perform clerical and administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, and completing insurance forms.
  4. Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
  5. Administer allergy tests and immunotherapy treatments under the supervision of a physician.
  6. Educate patients on allergy and immunology management and provide resources for self-care.
  7. Monitor and track patient progress and communicate any changes to the physician.
  8. Maintain a clean and organized workspace and ensure proper stocking of medical supplies and equipment.
  9. Follow all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
  10. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  11. Attend training and professional development opportunities to stay current on allergy and immunology treatments and procedures.
  12. Adhere to all HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality.
  13. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families.
  14. Handle patient inquiries and concerns with empathy and professionalism.
  15. Maintain a positive and collaborative working relationship with physicians and other healthcare team members.

Job Qualifications
  • Accredited Medical Assistant Certification: A Certified Medical Assistant - Allergy And Immunology At Ascension Health Must Possess A Valid And Current Certification From An Accredited Organization, Such As The American Association Of Medical Assistants (Aama) Or The American Medical Technologists (Amt).

  • Knowledge Of Allergy And Immunology Procedures: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Allergy And Immunology Procedures, Including Administering Allergy Tests, Performing Skin Prick Tests, And Administering Allergy Shots.

  • Electronic Medical Record (Emr) Proficiency: As Ascension Health Utilizes Electronic Medical Records, Proficiency In Navigating And Accurately Documenting Patient Information In Emrs Is Essential For A Certified Medical Assistant - Allergy And Immunology.

  • Strong Communication Skills: The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals Is Crucial In This Role. A Certified Medical Assistant Should Have Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills.

  • Attention To Detail: In Allergy And Immunology, Precision Is Key. A Certified Medical Assistant Must Have Excellent Attention To Detail To Accurately Perform Tests, Record Results, And Administer Treatments. This Includes Following Protocols And Ensuring A Safe And Sterile Environment For Patients.
