1. Provide compassionate and quality care to patients in accordance with the mission and values of Ascension Health.
2. Maintain a valid certification as a Medical Assistant and stay up-to-date with any necessary continuing education requirements.
3. Demonstrate a strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures.
4. Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
5. Assist with patient intake, including taking vital signs, obtaining medical history, and preparing patients for examinations.
6. Perform basic medical procedures, such as administering medications, collecting lab specimens, and dressing wounds.
7. Maintain accurate and organized patient records, including updating electronic medical records.
8. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
9. Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
10. Act as a patient advocate, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed and resolved.
11. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations in all interactions with patients and their families.
