Bachelor's Degree In Behavioral Health Or Related Field: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Psychology, Social Work, Or Counseling Is Typically Required For A Behavioral Health Technician Position At Ascension Health. This Education Provides A Solid Foundation In The Principles And Practices Of Behavioral Health.
Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Candidates For This Role Should Have Prior Experience Working In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Behavioral Health Setting. This Experience Demonstrates An Understanding Of The Unique Challenges And Dynamics Of Providing Care To Individuals With Mental Health And Substance Abuse Issues.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Ability To Effectively Communicate And Build Relationships With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals Is Crucial For A Behavioral Health Technician. This Role Involves Working Closely With A Multidisciplinary Team And Providing Support To Patients In Various Settings, So Strong Communication Skills Are Essential.
