  1. Provide comprehensive and compassionate care to pediatric patients with craniofacial and reconstructive plastic surgery needs.
  2. Work collaboratively with a team of physicians and specialists to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
  3. Perform thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations and medical history reviews.
  4. Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as X-rays and lab work, to aid in diagnosis and treatment.
  5. Administer medications, treatments, and other interventions as prescribed by physicians.
  6. Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and post-operative care.
  7. Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and families throughout the treatment process.
  8. Document patient information accurately and thoroughly in electronic medical records.
  9. Remain up-to-date on current research, best practices, and advancements in pediatric craniofacial and reconstructive plastic surgery.
  10. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in developing and implementing evidence-based practices.
  11. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and community resources to ensure continuity of care for patients.
  12. Adhere to ethical and legal standards, as well as institutional policies and procedures.
  13. Continuously maintain and improve clinical skills through professional development opportunities.
  14. Foster a positive and caring work environment by demonstrating effective communication and teamwork.
  15. Adhere to patient confidentiality and maintain professionalism at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree: A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Nursing Or A Doctor Of Nursing Practice (Dnp) Is Required For An Advanced Practice Provider In Pediatric Craniofacial And Reconstructive Plastic Surgery At Ascension Health. This Advanced Education Ensures A Strong Foundation In Healthcare Principles And Prepares Individuals To Provide Comprehensive Care To Pediatric Patients.

  • State Licensure And Certification: Candidates Must Possess A Current And Unrestricted License As A Nurse Practitioner Or Physician Assistant In The State Where They Will Practice. They Must Also Hold Certification As A Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (Pnp) Or Physician Assistant In Pediatric Surgery (Cpas) From A Nationally Recognized Certifying Body.

  • Pediatric Experience: A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience Working With Pediatric Patients In A Clinical Setting Is Required For This Position. Candidates Must Have A Strong Understanding Of The Unique Healthcare Needs Of Children, As Well As Experience In Pediatric Surgery, Craniofacial And Reconstructive Plastic Surgery, Or A Related Field.

  • Technical Skills: Advanced Practice Providers In This Role Must Have Strong Technical Skills, Including The Ability To Perform Physical Examinations, Order And Interpret Diagnostic Tests, And Prescribe Medications. They Should Also Be Proficient In Surgical Procedures, Such As Wound Debridement, Suturing, And Minor Tissue Repair.

  • Interpersonal And Communication Skills: Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For An Advanced Practice Provider In Pediatric Craniofacial And Reconstructive Plastic Surgery. They Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals, And Have A Compassionate And Empathetic Approach To Care. Additionally, Strong Leadership Skills And The Ability To Work Collaboratively In A Multidisciplinary Team Are Important For Success In This Role.
