  1. Provide high-quality and compassionate care to women and their families during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum periods.
  2. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement personalized care plans for patients.
  3. Conduct thorough assessments and screenings to identify any potential risks or complications during pregnancy and postpartum.
  4. Order and interpret diagnostic tests, and make appropriate referrals as needed.
  5. Prescribe and administer medications, treatments, and therapies as necessary.
  6. Educate patients and their families on proper prenatal care, childbirth, and newborn care.
  7. Monitor and evaluate patient progress, and make adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
  8. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
  9. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated and comprehensive care.
  10. Stay updated on the latest advancements and guidelines in maternal and newborn health to provide evidence-based care.
  11. Adhere to all legal and ethical standards in healthcare.
  12. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and activities to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.
  13. Maintain open and effective communication with patients, families, and colleagues.
  14. Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor at all times.
  15. Continuously strive to enhance your own knowledge and skills through continuing education and professional development opportunities.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree: The Ideal Candidate For An Advanced Practice Provider Np Or Pa Position At Ascension Health Should Possess A Master's Degree Or Higher In Nursing Or Physician Assistant Studies. This Advanced Degree Ensures That The Candidate Has Received The Necessary Education And Training To Provide High-Quality Care In Maternity Services.

  • State Licensure: All Candidates Must Possess A Valid State License To Practice As A Nurse Practitioner Or Physician Assistant. This Ensures That The Candidate Is Authorized To Practice In The State Where The Position Is Located And Has Met All Necessary Requirements For State Licensure.

  • Certification: Ascension Health Prefers Candidates Who Are Certified By A Nationally Recognized Certification Body, Such As The American Nurses Credentialing Center (Ancc) Or The National Commission On Certification Of Physician Assistants (Nccpa). Certification Demonstrates That The Candidate Has Met Rigorous Standards And Is Committed To Maintaining Their Knowledge And Skills In Their Field Of Practice.

  • Experience In Maternity Services: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience Working In Maternity Services. This Experience Should Include A Variety Of Settings, Such As Labor And Delivery, Postpartum, And Antepartum Care. Candidates With Experience In High-Risk Pregnancies And Neonatal Care Will Be Given Preference.

  • Collaboration And Communication Skills: The Ability To Collaborate And Communicate Effectively With Other Members Of The Healthcare Team, Including Physicians, Nurses, And Support Staff, Is Crucial For An Advanced Practice Provider Np Or Pa In Maternity Services. Candidates Should Possess Strong Interpersonal Skills, Be Able To Work Well In A Team, And Have Excellent Communication Skills To Ensure The Best Possible Care For Patients.
