- Dispense Medication: Prepare and dispense medication accurately and efficiently under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Assist Pharmacists: Work closely with pharmacists to ensure safe and effective medication therapy for patients, including reviewing medication orders and patient profiles.
- Provide Customer Service: Deliver excellent customer service to patients by answering questions and providing information about medications and their usage.
- Maintain Inventory: Monitor and maintain pharmacy inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, and restocking medications and supplies.
- Perform Administrative Tasks: Complete necessary documentation and maintain accurate records of medication dispensing and patient information.
- Comply with Regulations: Adhere to all pharmacy laws and regulations, including HIPAA and FDA guidelines, to ensure patient safety and confidentiality.
- Train and Supervise: Train and supervise other pharmacy technicians as needed to maintain efficient operations and ensure quality patient care.
- Collaborate with Healthcare Providers: Communicate with healthcare providers to resolve any issues or concerns related to medication therapy and provide necessary information for patient care.
- Perform Quality Control: Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure accuracy and safety in medication dispensing and storage.
- Stay Updated: Stay updated on industry developments, new medications, and changes in regulations to ensure compliance and provide the best possible care to patients.
Certified Pharmacy Technician: The Candidate Must Possess A Valid Certification From The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (Ptcb) Or The National Healthcareer Association (Nha).
Minimum Education And Experience: A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Required, Along With A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience As A Pharmacy Technician In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting.
Advanced Pharmacy Knowledge: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Pharmaceuticals, Compounding, And Medication Management. They Should Also Have Excellent Knowledge Of Drug Laws And Regulations.
Strong Communication Skills: The Candidate Must Possess Excellent Communication Skills, Both Verbal And Written, To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Healthcare Professionals, And Other Team Members.
Attention To Detail: The Candidate Should Have A Keen Attention To Detail And Be Able To Accurately Process And Fill Prescriptions, While Also Maintaining Accurate Records And Inventory. They Should Also Be Able To Identify And Resolve Any Potential Medication Errors.
