
Fire Inspector

- Conduct thorough inspections of campus buildings and facilities to identify potential fire hazards.
- Ensure compliance with fire safety codes and regulations.
- Develop and maintain detailed reports of inspection findings.
- Communicate with building owners, managers, and occupants to address any identified safety concerns.
- Educate others on fire prevention and emergency procedures.
- Monitor and evaluate fire safety systems and equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in fire safety regulations and codes.
- Collaborate with other members of the fire safety team to develop and implement emergency response plans.
- Assist in the development and delivery of fire safety training for students, faculty, and staff.
- Investigate and report on any fire safety incidents or violations.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to inspections and investigations.
- Conduct follow-up inspections and ensure any identified issues have been addressed.
- Participate in fire safety drills and exercises.
- Attend training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Act as a resource for fire safety inquiries and provide guidance and support as needed.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while on campus.
- Continuously evaluate and improve fire safety processes and procedures.
- Collaborate with local fire departments and agencies as needed.
- Represent Arizona State University in a professional and positive manner.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Of Five Years Of Experience As A Fire Inspector In A Public Or Private Organization.
Bachelor's Degree In Fire Science, Safety Engineering, Or A Related Field.
Knowledge Of State And Local Fire Codes And Regulations, Including Nfpa And Ifc Codes.
Certification As A Fire Inspector Ii Or Higher Through The International Code Council (Icc).
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Communicate With Other Departments, Faculty, Staff, And Students.
