- Answer questions and address concerns from visitors, ensuring a positive and enjoyable visit.
- Promote the mission and values of the Architect of the Capitol, highlighting the importance of preserving and promoting this historic landmark.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure a seamless and coordinated visitor experience.
- Stay up-to-date with current events and exhibits at the Capitol to provide relevant and accurate information to visitors.
- Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor at all times, representing the Architect of the Capitol in a positive manner.
- Assist with crowd control and safety measures to ensure a smooth and enjoyable visit for all visitors.
- Continuously seek ways to improve the visitor experience and provide feedback to management.
Extensive Knowledge Of The History And Architecture Of The Capitol Building And Surrounding Areas. This Includes A Strong Understanding Of The Various Landmarks, Monuments, And Government Buildings Located In Washington D.c.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills. A Visitor Guide Must Be Able To Interact With A Diverse Range Of Visitors, Including International Tourists, School Groups, And Government Officials, And Effectively Convey Information About The Capitol.
Customer Service Experience. The Role Of A Visitor Guide Is To Provide A Positive And Informative Experience For Visitors, And Therefore, Candidates Should Have Previous Experience In Customer Service Or A Related Field.
Strong Organizational And Time-Management Skills. A Visitor Guide Must Be Able To Manage Multiple Tours And Visitors At Once, While Also Ensuring The Safety And Security Of The Group.
Flexibility And Adaptability. The Capitol Is A Constantly Changing Environment, With Different Events And Tours Happening On A Daily Basis. A Visitor Guide Must Be Able To Adapt To These Changes And Adjust Their Tours Accordingly.
