  1. Greet and welcome visitors to the Capitol, providing a warm and friendly first impression.
  2. Share knowledge and information about the history, architecture, and significance of the Capitol with visitors.
  3. Engage visitors in interactive and informative tours, providing a memorable and educational experience.
  4. Answer questions and address concerns from visitors, ensuring a positive and enjoyable visit.
  5. Promote the mission and values of the Architect of the Capitol, highlighting the importance of preserving and promoting this historic landmark.
  6. Collaborate with other team members to ensure a seamless and coordinated visitor experience.
  7. Stay up-to-date with current events and exhibits at the Capitol to provide relevant and accurate information to visitors.
  8. Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor at all times, representing the Architect of the Capitol in a positive manner.
  9. Assist with crowd control and safety measures to ensure a smooth and enjoyable visit for all visitors.
  10. Continuously seek ways to improve the visitor experience and provide feedback to management.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Knowledge Of The History And Architecture Of The Capitol Building And Surrounding Areas. This Includes A Strong Understanding Of The Various Landmarks, Monuments, And Government Buildings Located In Washington D.c.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills. A Visitor Guide Must Be Able To Interact With A Diverse Range Of Visitors, Including International Tourists, School Groups, And Government Officials, And Effectively Convey Information About The Capitol.

  • Customer Service Experience. The Role Of A Visitor Guide Is To Provide A Positive And Informative Experience For Visitors, And Therefore, Candidates Should Have Previous Experience In Customer Service Or A Related Field.

  • Strong Organizational And Time-Management Skills. A Visitor Guide Must Be Able To Manage Multiple Tours And Visitors At Once, While Also Ensuring The Safety And Security Of The Group.

  • Flexibility And Adaptability. The Capitol Is A Constantly Changing Environment, With Different Events And Tours Happening On A Daily Basis. A Visitor Guide Must Be Able To Adapt To These Changes And Adjust Their Tours Accordingly.
