Job Description

The Architect of the Capitol (AOC) is seeking a highly experienced and motivated individual to join our team as a Masonry Leader. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance and preservation of masonry structures on the AOC’s extensive grounds. You must have a strong commitment to excellence, an eye for detail, and a passion for upholding the highest standards of quality. This is an opportunity to advance your career while working in a meaningful and rewarding environment.To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications: a minimum of 5 years of experience working on masonry structures, a valid driver’s license, and an in-depth knowledge of masonry materials, techniques, and safety procedures. In addition, you must be able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain and preserve masonry structures on the AOC’s grounds.
  2. Ensure that all masonry structures are up to the highest standards of quality.
  3. Develop and implement a maintenance plan for all masonry structures.
  4. Monitor the progress of masonry projects and ensure completion on time and under budget.
  5. Identify and address any safety concerns or potential issues with the masonry structures.
  6. Use masonry materials, techniques, and safety procedures in accordance with industry standards.
  7. Provide guidance and training to junior masonry staff.
  8. Collaborate with other departments and contractors to ensure masonry projects are successful.
  9. Develop and document masonry best practices.
  10. Work with suppliers to ensure that the necessary materials and supplies are available.
