Job Description

The Architect of the Capitol is looking for a dynamic and motivated Mason Assistant Supervisor to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organized individual with proven leadership experience, superb communication skills, and a passion for the craft of masonry. This position requires a combination of physical labor and technical knowledge, so the ideal candidate must have a strong background in masonry as well as strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. We’re looking for someone who is a team player, has a positive attitude, and is excited to take on new challenges. If you have a proven track record of supervising masonry projects, have an extensive knowledge of masonry materials, techniques, and tools, and have the passion and drive to help us further our mission, this is the position for you.

Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise masonry projects and ensure that all construction is completed within budget and to the highest quality standards.
  2. Monitor the progress of masonry projects and address any issues that may arise.
  3. Train and oversee masonry employees including apprentices and journeymen.
  4. Advise management on any technical or safety issues related to masonry projects.
  5. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers of masonry materials.
  6. Ensure the safe operation of all masonry equipment and tools.
  7. Prepare and maintain accurate records of masonry projects.
  8. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  9. Assess and order materials needed for masonry projects.
  10. Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations and codes.
