As a member of our team, you will play a crucial role in promoting sustainability and helping to maintain the beauty of our nation's capital.   1. Collect and sort recyclable materials from designated areas within the Capitol complex.
  2. Ensure that all collected materials are properly disposed of and recycled in accordance with the organization's sustainability policies.
  3. Operate various equipment, such as balers and compactors, to compact recyclable materials.
  4. Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
  5. Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of historic buildings within the Capitol complex.
  6. Identify and report any issues or damages to buildings or equipment to the appropriate supervisor.
  7. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while performing job duties.
  8. Work collaboratively with team members to achieve recycling and sustainability goals.
  9. Keep accurate records of recyclable materials collected and disposed of.
  10. Continuously seek out ways to improve recycling processes and procedures.
  11. Attend all required trainings and meetings related to recycling and sustainability.
  12. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while representing the Architect of the Capitol.
  13. Be willing to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  14. Follow all guidelines and regulations set forth by the Architect of the Capitol and federal government.
  15. Maintain a high level of physical fitness to perform job duties, including lifting and carrying heavy objects and standing for extended periods of time.
