- Design and plan maintenance and improvement projects for historic buildings and grounds of the United States Capitol.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis to develop innovative and cost-effective solutions for complex engineering and architectural challenges.
- Apply technical expertise in the areas of structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to ensure the safety and functionality of the Capitol's facilities.
- Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to develop and implement comprehensive plans for the preservation and modernization of Capitol buildings and grounds.
- Monitor and assess the condition of existing structures and develop maintenance strategies to ensure their longevity.
- Utilize modern technology and best practices to improve efficiency and sustainability in the operations and maintenance of the Capitol.
- Keep up-to-date with current engineering and architectural trends and advancements to continually improve and enhance the Capitol's facilities.
- Communicate and coordinate with contractors, vendors, and other external partners to ensure project success.
- Adhere to all relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards in the design and execution of projects.
- Proactively identify and address potential issues or challenges that may arise during project development and implementation.
- Mentor and train junior engineers and architects to develop their skills and knowledge in the preservation and modernization of historic buildings.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the organization.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Engineering Or Architecture From An Accredited University.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Related Field, Such As Building Design, Construction, Or Project Management.
Knowledge Of Building Codes, Regulations, And Industry Standards.
Proficiency In Computer-Aided Design (Cad) Software And Other Relevant Technical Tools.
Excellent Communication And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively In A Team Environment.
